A झणझणीत Maharashtrian snack...
The usal (उसळ) is usually prepared from bean sprouts (and sometimes other pulses) and packs in a punch of nutrition.
The thin spicy oily gravy is known variously as kat (कट) in the Kolhapur region, sample (सांपल) in the Pune region, tarri (टर्री) in the Nashik region and otherwise generally as rassa (रस्सा). Fiery hot, it works nicely to set your tongue on fire!
Don't just post snaps...even recipes are to be posted (or atleast mailed to your sister)...hehe
ReplyDeletegood work...keep it up...but please please try to use less of oil and cream/butter
As a policy, recipes will not be posted [even if you are Sanjeev Kapoor] ;)
ReplyDeleteSure, all my recipes fall in the health consciousness bracket. The oil you see floating on the gravy is not in excess, it's a little sugary trick in the recipe itself...
